After getting my Commercial Pilot’s License and Flight Instructor ratings, I spent a number of years as a primary Fight Instructor at Executive Flyers Aviation at Hanscom Field, Berdford MA, building flight time to get an airline job,
I retired from United Airlines in June of 2014, having accumulated nearly 30,000 flight hours, @750 Atlantic crossings, Zero accidents and Zero violations

I was hired by Air New England on June 1st, 1974. It began a career that spanned 42 years and a number of airlines. After ANE closed its’ doors in Oct of 1981,

I was hired in February of 1982 by PEOPLExpress. PEX, was merged into Continental Airlines in 1986. Those early days at Continental under Frank Lorenzo and its’ bankruptcies, were the darkest part of my career. He was later deemed by the US DOT to be unfit to run an airline, They were right…

Enter Gordon Bethune. He took Continental “from Worst to First”. Continental became a JD Power award winning airline for Customer Service, Reliability and On Time performance for multiple years.
As a result of Deregulation, Airline mergers were happening throughout the industry. In order to thrive and survive, Continental and United Airlines announced plans to merge in May of 2010.
